We are proud to share that Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Watford is now an Operation Encompass Early Years Setting, further strengthening our commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of every child in our care.

Operation Encompass is a national police and education partnership that enables early years settings, schools, and colleges to offer immediate, confidential support to children who have been exposed to domestic abuse.

When police attend a domestic abuse incident where children are involved, key information is shared with the nursery’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) before the start of the next day. This simple, yet vital communication ensures our team can respond quickly and appropriately, offering the child the support they need, when they need it most.

Domestic abuse is a traumatic experience for any child, often impacting their emotional, behavioural, and educational development. Early intervention is crucial. By being a part of Operation Encompass, our trained team at Monkey Puzzle Watford can take sensitive, informed action to help children feel safe, heard, and supported during difficult times.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a nurturing, safe environment where children can play, learn and grow, no matter what challenges they may face outside of nursery.
